Thank you for your interest in the NIB Trust Fund, the next call for applications for Groups and Organization will be available in the November of 2018. We will be accepting applications for education programs aimed at education, healing and reconciliation. These funds are available to First Nation and Métis governments and organizations.
“Groups and Organizations” are any organization listed as a “qualified donee” or “Charitable Organization” with Canada Revenue Agency at the time of application”. Please note preference will be giving to First Nation and/or Métis governments and/or communities and/or non-profits and/or societies.
In order for an organization (university, college, or other incorporated entities) to be eligible for funding through NIB Trust, it must have charitable status as acknowledged by Canada Revenue Agency at the time of application. Provincial designations of charitable status are not acceptable – it must be recognized federally. To see if your organization is a registered charity please visit:
In order for a First Nation, Tribal Council, PTO to be eligible for NIB Trust funding, it must have “qualified donee” status as recognized by Canada Revenue Agency. If your group is not on “The List of Municipalities or Public Bodies Performing a Function of Government in Canada” you are not eligible. Thank you for your interest in the NIB Trust Fund, the call for Group and Organizations Applications is now closed and we are no longer accepting applications as the deadline was January 19, 2018 5:00 PM EST (Eastern Standard Time).
We are presently in the process of reviewing and evaluating the applications. We anticipate having funding decision by April 2018.
The next call for Group and Organizations Applications will be available in the Fall of 2018.
